Hello, I’m Stephanie Lawing

Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of Long Island’s North Shore and later settling into our forever home in Virginia Beach, VA, my artwork has always been deeply influenced by the world around me. With botanical gardens, wildlife refuges, and the Atlantic Ocean as my backyard, I find endless inspiration in nature’s colors, textures, and quiet elegance.

My love for composition and design led me to pursue an MFA at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I focused on abstract works, believing art needed to be complex to be meaningful. Over time, I realized that what truly fulfills me is capturing the simple beauty of nature. In 2018, I took the leap to make painting my full-time career, trading abstract ideas for something closer to my heart—vibrant, joyful works inspired by the flowers and landscapes I love. Now, every brushstroke feels like home, and I couldn’t be happier!
